When receiver Allen Hurns was still on the board as the sixth round of the NFL Draft proceeded last year, his agent told him he’d be better off not being drafted because he could then pick his team.
Hurns wound up not being drafted, got four offers and picked the Jaguars because they didn’t have many veteran receivers and he was familiar with the offense run by Jedd Fisch, who was then the Jaguars’ offensive coordinator.
Fisch, now a Jim Harbaugh assistant at Michigan, had coached Hurns at Miami before being hired by the Jaguars.
It worked out well for Hurns as he played in all 16 games, started eight and caught 51 passes.
