JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --- Maurice Jones-Drew has officially retired.
The former running back signed a one-day deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Tuesday. The team hosted a ceremonial press conference for the former NFL rushing champion at EverBank Field.
Jones-Drew spent eight seasons in Jacksonville and collected more than 8,000 rushing yards as a member of the Jaguars. The 5-foot-7, 210-pound ball carrier owns the franchise records for single-game all-purpose yards, single-season all-purpose yards and single-season rushing yards. He is also the all-time leader in career rushing touchdowns for the Jaguars.
Three Pro Bowl appearances and three All-Pro selections highlighted Jones-Drew's career, which started when he was the 60th overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft.
