Late turnovers cost the Jaguars in 28-23 loss to the Jets

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ — The Jacksonville Jaguars returned to the gridiron in Week 9 against the New York Jets and failed to create a two-game winning streak as they lost on the road, 28-23, on Sunday.

The matchup at MetLife Stadium was ultimately decided by the turnover battle. The Jaguars fumbled twice late in the game, which led to the Jets game-clinching touchdown strike. Both quarterback Blake Bortles and rookie punt returner Nick Marshall fumbled in the fourth quarter on back-to-back possessions, which allowed the Jets to go up by two scores.

The Jaguars would score again, but a failed onside kick followed by a second Bortles interception ended the game for Jacksonville.
