Khan opens up on future of Shipyards project

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Football season kicks off in just a week, but the owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars is already looking ahead to next season -- and next year's expected forecast.

Jaguars owner Shad Khan says he plans to build an indoor practice facility at the south end of EverBank Field.

Speaking Tuesday at the Jaguars annual kickoff luncheon, Khan said the project would cost around $30 million -- a cost he says he would pay for himself -- and he hops to have it complete by 2016.

Khan also fielded questions about the Shipyards project -- a multi-use, multi million dollar vision for the now-defunct -- and still quite polluted -- Shipyards property in downtown Jacksonville.
