Kelvin Beachum wins Jaguars' starting job at left tackle over Luke Joeckel

Jaguars coach Gus Bradley said Tuesday that Luke Joeckel had his best training camp at left tackle.

It wasn’t enough to keep his job.

In a decision that in reality was made on March 16, Bradley named Kelvin Beachum the team’s starting left tackle. Beachum signed with the Jaguars that day to a five-year, $45-million contract with just $1.5 million guaranteed after spending his first four seasons in Pittsburgh. The Steelers viewed him as dispensable after he tore his ACL in October.

Joeckel will be beside Beachum at left guard when the regular season opens against visiting Green Bay on Sept.
