The Jacksonville Jaguars made a polarizing move on Tuesday afternoon, revealing that head coach Gus Bradley would be retained for the 2016 season.
While several fans and national media pundits were shocked by the timing of the move, as well as the move itself, I wasn't surprised in the slightest. However, that didn't make the news any less peculiar.
"How could a team want to keep a head coach that has won roughly ¼ of his games?"
However, after digesting the situation a bit more, I realized the move made sense for several reasons.
For one, this team was legitimately gutted in his first year as head coach and the organization has always alluded to his tenure being a long-term solution, as oppose to a quick fix.
