The Jacksonville Jaguars have sent a 2020 fifth-round pick to the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for quarterback Josh Dobbs, according to a report by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Dobbs, a fourth round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft out of Tennessee, was in a battle with Mason Rudolph for the Steelers backup quarterback job and it appears ultimately lost it with the team moving him to the Jaguars.
Dobbs will back up new starter Gardner Minshew while Nick Foles presumably goes on injured reserve for a broken clavicle he suffered in Sunday’s 40-26 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
