Jaguars tight end Julius Thomas was asked Tuesday whether he gets annoyed by the perception that he became a star in Denver because Peyton Manning was throwing him the ball.
Thomas caught 24 touchdowns in his last 27 regular-season games for Denver. He signed a massive five-year, $46-million deal ($24 million guaranteed) with the Jaguars in March.
Many critics scoffed that Manning made Thomas, although Manning's numbers dropped off considerably once Thomas injured his ankle midway through the season.
The 6-foot-5, 250-pound Thomas was limited or out in Denver's last seven games. In that span, Manning threw 10 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
