Jaguars stay at No. 5, take Jalen Ramsey

The process of rebuilding the Jaguars’ secondary, which started last year in free agency, continued tonight when the franchise drafted Florida State cornerback Jalen Ramsey with the fifth overall pick.

Before the Jaguars selected, the first four picks were: Jared Goff to Los Angeles, Carson Wentz to Philadelphia, Joey Bosa to San Diego and Ezekiel Elliott to Dallas.

Ramsey (6-1, 209) dazzled at the Scouting Combine in February, running the 40-yard dash in 4.41 seconds and tying for the best marks in the vertical jump (41.5 inches) and broad jump (11 feet, 3 inches).

"We didn't think he would get to us," Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell said after making the selection.
