Jaguars running back Toby Gerhart placed on injured reserve

Before leaving for Nashville and tomorrow's game against Tennessee, the Jaguars today placed running back Toby Gerhart on the season-ending injured reserve.

To take Gerhart's roster spot, the Jaguars signed receiver Rashad Lawrence from the practice squad.

The move likely ends Gerhart's two-year career with the team.

Gerhart missed the first two games this year with a groin injury and was shelved this week because of the same injury.

Gerhart sat out two games at mid-season as a healthy scratch.

Among Gerhart's 20 carries for 44 yards this year were four consecutive rushes from the 1-yard line against Buffalo in Week 7 that failed to gain a touchdown.
