Already flush with salary cap space for the start of free agency next week, the Jaguars created an additional $5.5 million today by releasing left guard Zane Beadles.
Beadles, 30, didn’t miss a snap in two years for the Jaguars. The Times-Union’s game charting put him on the hook for six sacks in 2015, nine “bad” runs (attempts that gained fewer than 2 yards except for short-yardage) and four penalties.
That the Jaguars have released Beadles means they’re confident a new guard or center will be signed in free agency. Incumbent center Stefen Wisniewski is a free agent.
