Jaguars running back T.J. Yeldon missed practice for the second consecutive day on Thursday.
The rookie injured his groin in Sunday's 38-31 loss at Tampa Bay.
Yeldon, selected in the second round, has rushed 81 times for 291 yards this season. He also has 15 catches for 73 yards and a touchdown.
"It's getting better," Yeldon said. "I ran a little bit today. We'll see how it goes as we get closer to game day."
The Jaguars (1-4) are expected to start Denard Robinson or Toby Gerhart on Sunday against visiting Houston (1-4) if Yeldon is inactive.
