Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles voiced his excitement over Central Florida, his alma mater, hiring Scott Frost to be its new football coach on Wednesday.
The 40-year-old Frost led the explosive Oregon offense as offensive coordinator.
“I think it’s a great hire,” Bortles said. “I’m excited to meet him. Coming from Oregon, anything out of that system you’re definitely excited about.”
Bortles has put up his own fireworks in his second-year with the Jaguars. He leads the NFL in completions of over 20 yards with 50.
Bortles led UCF to a 52-42 victory over Baylor in the Fiesta Bowl in his final season to cap a 12-1 campaign.
