Jaguars Position Preview: Tight ends

Just about the entire foundation tight end Julius Thomas built on the Jaguars’ practice field last offseason crumbled on his first — and only — catch of the preseason, which ended with a broken hand.

Thomas missed the first four games and essentially started over upon his debut in mid-October.

The Jaguars are counting on a more seamless August for Thomas, who again looked dominant in the May and June workouts.

“Outstanding spring,” tight ends coach Ron Middleton said. “He looked like he did last year before he got hurt.”

What the Jaguars need is for Thomas to produce at the level he did for Denver in 2013-14.
