Jaguars position preview: Can young receivers take next step?

The Jaguars wouldn’t travel into Crazy Money Land to convince Green Bay receiver Randall Cobb to hit the open market March 10. He re-signed with the Packers.

And the Jaguars passed on Alabama receiver Amari Cooper with the third overall pick on April 30, going with Florida passer rusher Dante Fowler. Cooper went No. 4 to Oakland.

Cobb and/or Cooper would have given the Jaguars a new dimension offensively this year.

Instead, the Jaguars are counting on big steps forward from their returning receivers to spark a long-impotent offense.

Heading into the start of training camp next week, the projected top three receivers — Allen Robinson, Marqise Lee and Allen Hurns — are back from last year.
