JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — While the promotion of Todd Wash from defensive line coach to defensive coordinator has received mixed reactions externally, players are praising the hire.
Wash has worked with the Jacksonville Jaguars for three seasons and developed relationships throughout the roster as a leader, teacher and mentor. The new defensive coordinator is a familiar and welcome face for Jaguars players, who appreciate continuity among the coaching staff.
Along with the familiarity, players genuinely like Wash and believe he was the right man for the job.
"[He is a] great coach, respected by everyone on the defense," said defensive tackle Abry Jones, shortly after the promotion was made official.
