Jaguars opener got higher TV ratings than any game last year

The Jaguars TV ratings for the season opener against the Carolina Panthers showed the fans were energized for the start of the season.

The game was viewed in 164,000 households, which was higher than the audience for any game last year.

It got a 24.8 rating (percentage of TV sets tuned into the game) and a 44 share (percentage of TV sets turned on that were tuned into the game).

Last year’s opener in Philadelphia was viewed in 150,000 households with a 22.7 rating and a 39 share.

The game last year that was viewed by the most households last year was the home game against Houston, which was viewed in 153,000 households.
