The timing couldn’t have been better for rookie wide receiver Neal Sterling last weekend.
His parents were visiting when the Jaguars told him that he was going to be signed to the active roster, and they could savor the moment together.
“It was really exciting,” he said.
It was a long road to the active roster for the seventh-round pick, who was slowed by a hamstring injury in training camp and didn’t play until the final preseason game, when it was too late to make the roster.
“It was real frustrating,” he said.
