Fowler undergoes ACL surgery
Jaguars rookie defensive end Dante Fowler underwent surgery Wednesday to repair the torn left anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).
James Andrews performed the operation. Kevin Kaplan, the Jaguars head physician, was on hand to observe the surgery. Jaguars associate athletic trainer Robert Hoenshel also accompanied Fowler to Pensacola.
Fowler, the Jaguars first round pick (third overall) on April 30, was injured in the opening hour of the team’s first rookie minicamp practice on May 8.
The Jaguars’ plan for Fowler is to have him rehabilitate the injury at EverBank Field so he can still be around the team.
