Grant eager to kick in ‘rare speed’
At the time of his injury last October, Jaguars running back Corey Grant had an ugly-looking offensive stat line — six carries for two yards, including a fumble that was returned for a touchdown by Tampa Bay.
But he was opening eyes as a kick returner — his 27.5-yard average was fourth in the NFL (through six games) when he tore a hip flexor. Surgery wasn’t required, and Grant was cleared physically in late December.
Either as a third-down back and certainly as a kick returner, Grant knows there is one way to be around to face Green Bay in Week 1.
