Jaguars lose battle of field goals against the New York Giants

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The second preseason game for the Jacksonville Jaguars took the team on the road against the New York Giants, which led to a 22-12 loss in a battle of (mostly) field goals.

The Jaguars first-team offense played well against the veteran-heavy host's starting defense, as quarterback Blake Bortles led three scoring drives in as many series, completing 8-of-16 passes for 98 passing yards and a fumble. Bortles had to deal with drops once again, as wide receivers Allen Hurns and Allen Robinson both failed to haul in passes at different points.

Bortles' opening drive ended in a 52-yard field goal by kicker Josh Scobee, after the quarterback fumbled on third down and center Stefen Wisniewski was able to recover the football.
