TALLAHASSEE | The Jaguars will be mining the middle to late rounds of the draft in two weeks, trying to find a player worthy of being labeled a “steal.”
Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell found one last year in outside linebacker Telvin Smith. The fifth-round pick out of Florida State became one of the defense’s top playmakers.
Smith attended FSU’s pro day on March 31 and reflected back on his first season. He finished second on the team in tackles with 99 (third in the NFL among rookies) and was second in tackles behind the line with nine.
