Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee had one great round last year in his debut appearance at the American Century Championships, the crown jewel of the celebrity golf circuit. It was good enough to finish in 20th place.
But with more familiarity about the course south of Lake Tahoe, Nev., and what shots it requires, Scobee will enter this year’s event confident he can unseat defending champion Mark Rypien.
“I can [win],” Scobee said. “I just have to play well. Last year, I played well the first day, but had too many double bogeys on the second and third days, and that’s when your score goes in the opposite direction.
