Jaguars kicker Matthew Wright was given AFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors earlier this morning for his stellar performance against the Miami Dolphins in London over the weekend.
This comes just a couple of days after Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer officially named him the team’s starting kicker, and just one day after the team let go of long-time Jaguars PK Josh Lambo, a move that would have stunned many prior to the season.
Now, Wright will get a chance to continue to prove himself after connecting on all three of his field goals on Sunday and both of his extra points.
