The Jacksonville Jaguars already began the process of trimming down the roster to 53-man players. One day after the Week 3 preseason loss to the Miami Dolphins, they sent a free-agent acquisition packing.
The Jags announced that they traded offensive lineman Fred Johnson to the Philadelphia Eagles in return for a seventh-round pick in next year's draft. All things considered, this was a good deal when you take into account that the seventh-year veteran wasn't going to stay with Jacksonville in 2025.
And by trading Johnson, the team's brass is paving the way for another lineman to stay.
