Instead of quickly pivoting toward the sideline to retrieve his kicking tee, Jason Myers stood still, both hands on his facemask, staring at the EverBank Field turf after another botched extra-point attempt. It was as if he was saying, “Not again.”
Moments later, after drilling his kickoff through the uprights and receiving mock cheers, Myers spiked his Jaguars helmet into a sideline equipment bag.
Maybe the miss – his NFL-leading seventh (nobody else has more than four) – flipped a switch and sharpened his focus. He made all six point-after kicks in the second half of the Jaguars’ 51-16 win over Indianapolis.
