Jaguars Insider: Offense piling up yards, not points

Entering Sunday’s game at Baltimore, the Jaguars’ offense ranks 16th in yards per game (354.4) but only 22nd in points (21.3).

Priority A for the offense in their quest for more points is taking better advantage of drives that cross midfield.

Not counting kneel-down possessions, the Jaguars have entered opponent’s territory on 47 of 93 drives (50.5 percent).

During trips on the “plus” side of the field, the Jaguars have only 17 touchdowns (36.2 percent) and haven’t scored on 18 of those possessions (38.3 percent).

In the overtime loss at Indianapolis (Week 4), the Jaguars entered Colts territory 10 times, but managed only 13 points.
