The first thing to clarify with tight end Connor Hamlett during the Jaguars’ rookie minicamp earlier this month: What happened to his retirement from football?
Citing existing knee issues, Hamlett told his hometown paper in Washington state he “didn’t want to be in pain every day. I felt like it was time to move on and live a normal life.”
That was in late January.
On May 3, Hamlett agreed to terms with the Jaguars.
What gives?
“I just took some time off because I was banged up,” said Hamlett, launching into a denial that he retired.
