Jaguars in Review: Snap counts, crucial plays vs. Jets

When the margin of defeat is five points, like it was for the Jaguars Sunday against the New York Jets, it’s easy to point to a handful of difference-making plays.

We know about the four turnovers. But what was missing for the Jaguars’ defense? Execution on these five plays.

1. Third-and-12 from the Jets 47. A middle screen shouldn’t have gained 16 yards, but it did for RB Bilal Powell when LBs Paul Posluszny and Telvin Smith back-tracked downfield and were then rubbed out by two Jets offensive linemen. New York took a 7-3 lead four plays later.
