Historically, the Jacksonville Jaguars have had one of the strongest running games in the entire league. Fred Taylor had a borderline dominant run in the 2000s despite a few injuries, and his successor, Maurice Jones-Drew, was by far the most nationally praised Jaguars player in the last decade.
The 2014 season was a completely different story, as the Jaguars had one of the least effective backfields in the NFL. Toby Gerhart ended up having a disappointing, injury-riddled year after signing as a free agent to replace MJD, and 2nd year converted quarterback Denard Robinson was the team’s best option to tote the ball.
