Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell said today he hasn't heard any new news about the status of suspended receiver Justin Blackmon, but also expressed doubt about No. 14's playing career … and not just in Jacksonville.
"I guess I harbor hope, but realistically, when you're away from the game for two-and-a-half years, what you were once is not what you will probably be -- your skills do erode, especially when you're not in shape and not in top football shape," Caldwell said.
Blackmon has been suspended for multiple substance abuse violations since November 2013. Coupled with his suspension to start the 2013 season, he has been banned from 28 of the last 32 games.
