Jaguars GM Dave Caldwell discusses fixing defense as Senior Bowl week begins

FAIRHOPE, ALA. – Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell met with reporters prior to the South team’s first practice of Senior Bowl week on Tuesday.

The Jaguars are coaching the South squad for the third consecutive year. Caldwell reflected on how the previous experience has helped the Jaguars and what he expects this season. The Jaguars (5-11) are expected to focus most of the offseason resources [huge salary-cap space and eight picks] to improve their defense.

Caldwell also believes getting two injured defensive linemen back – end Dante Fowler and tackle Sen’Derrick Marks will help as well.

“Now, we can really focus on which side of the ball do we really want to build,” Caldwell said.
