Jaguars' Dwyane Gratz knows team must cut down on mistakes

Botched assignments, missed tackles and breakdowns in communication plagued the Jaguars’ secondary during a 38-14 loss at San Diego on Sunday.

One play in particular stands out to cornerback Dwayne Gratz, who said it was his mistake that led to a Chargers touchdown.

Gratz took on a bigger role than usual and played 39 of the defense’s 68 snaps in Week 2 with Prince Amukamara (hamstring) and Aaron Colvin (suspension) unavailable and was pleased with his overall performance.

Gratz is expected to be the No. 3 cornerback again Sunday against Baltimore.

But the fourth-year veteran recognizes gaffes such as the one that led to a 44-yard touchdown to San Diego receiver Tyrell Williams can’t happen as the Jaguars struggle to turn around a frustrating start to the season.
