Jaguars down to 53 players after 3 more cut, Ziggy Hood placed on IR

UPDATED: 4:25 p.m.

The Jaguars reached the 53-man roster limit today by releasing linebacker Jeremiah George, safety Craig Loston and guard/tackle Austin Pasztor and placing defensive tackle Ziggy Hood (foot) on injured reserve.

General manager Dave Caldwell said Loston (ankle) was cleared by the doctors so it’s not a waived-injured situation and Hood’s injury would have been 3-4 weeks in length.

In addition, the Jaguars moved defensive tackle Sen’Derrick Marks (knee) from the physically unable to perform list to the active roster, allowing him to practice and play as soon as he’s cleared.

The Jaguars have basically ruled out Marks for Week 1, but Caldwell said they’re confident he’ll debut before Week 6.
