Jaguars cornerback Dwayne Gratz has no illusions about life as an NFL player.
“We get paid to do what we do,’’ he said. “When you don’t get it done, they look for someone else to replace you. That’s the nature of it.’’
Gratz, the Jaguars’ third-round pick in 2013, began last season as the starting cornerback. He was right on schedule — the Jaguars expect the players they draft in the first three rounds to become starters.
But the Jaguars decided Gratz wasn’t getting it done after four games and replaced him with Demetrius McCray, a seventh-round pick in 2013.
