Jaguars, Bills have different fan bases and history, but face similar challenges

There was little common ground between the Jaguars’ NFL franchise and their first two London opponents, the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys, both of whom play in much larger markets and have a combined 10 Super Bowls in their trophy cases.

Not so with Sunday’s matchup at Wembley Stadium against the Buffalo Bills, whose fiercely loyal supporters, in many ways, should feel a kindred spirit with a Jaguars’ fan base that has suffered through equally difficult times.

While Buffalo has a longer pro football history and less-transient population than Jacksonville, there are similarities beyond both cities being among the smallest NFL markets.
