Jaguars agree to deal with third-round pick Quincy Williams

The Jaguars locked up their 2019 drafted players to contracts, as the team announced they’ve reached agreement with the second of their two third-round picks in linebacker Quincy Williams.

Williams was the surprise pick of the Jaguars draft, and frankly the surprise pick of Day Two of the NFL Draft according to a majority of NFL insiders, as the team used the 98th overall selection to take the Murray St. linebacker who previously had not received an invitation to the league’s two premier scouting events, the Senior Bowl and Combine.

Despite the lack of name recognition, (though his younger brother Quinnen was the 3rd overall pick in the draft), a deep dive into Williams’ film does show a guy whose play is eerily similar to that of Telvin Smith, who recently announced his decision to take off the 2019 season for personal reasons.
