Jacksonville Jaguars release kicker Jason Myers, sign Josh Lambo as replacement

It turns out that Sunday’s performance against the Los Angeles Rams was in fact the final nail in the coffin for Jason Myers’ tenure with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Myers went just 1-for-3 on field goal attempts, in the 27-17 loss to the Rams.

Myers finished his initial season in Jacksonville in 2015 making 87% of his field goals, but that make percentage has dropped to 73% in 2017.

In six games this season, Myers had only two games in which he didn’t have at least one missed field goal or extra point. That inconsistency proved to be too much for the Jaguars to continue moving forward with Myers as the kicker.
