The long offseason finally comes to a close officially on Friday night as the Jacksonville Jaguars step foot on Everbank Field to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in their first preseason contest.
After an extremely active free agency period and a draft that saw the Jaguars add 8 new players, the team looks vastly different from the squad that ended the year with a loss to the Houston Texans to finish 3-13.
A new season means a new lease on life for many of the players who haven’t lived up to expectations, but it also means they need to hold off new competitors if they want to keep a starting job or a roster spot.
