Inside the Game: Maligned defense made big plays to beat Bills

LONDON | The Jaguars defense couldn’t force turnovers or hold up on third down.

Until Sunday.

With the season teetering on disaster at 1-5, the Jaguars defense found its stride at the perfect time. The defense produced four turnovers, scoring on two, and was much more effective on third down in a 34-31 win over Buffalo on Sunday at Wembley Stadium.

Yes, EJ Manuel was Buffalo’s starting quarterback.

Yes, receivers Sammy Watkins and Percy Harvin were out, as were two starting offensive linemen.

Don’t kill this buzz though.

The Jaguars needed any reason to feel good about their defense.
