Inside the Game: Jaguars need bold approach to squeeze Drew Brees

The Jaguars’ defense has been fortunate this season.

Through 14 games, the Jaguars haven’t faced a difficult gauntlet of opposing quarterbacks.

They missed Indianapolis’ Andrew Luck in both meetings.

They’ve faced two rookies, Tennessee’s Marcus Mariota and Tampa Bay’s Jameis Winston, in three games.

Another game featured a backup, Buffalo’s EJ Manuel.

Really, the Jaguars have only faced four high-quality pocket quarterbacks: New England’s Tom Brady, Baltimore’s Joe Flacco, San Diego’s Philip Rivers and Atlanta’s Matt Ryan.

Carolina’s Cam Newton is having a season that will likely result in an MVP award, but he’s such a versatile threat he isn’t solely a pocket passer.
