Jaguars second-year quarterback Blake Bortles appears to have shaken off a disappointing performance in the 20-9 loss to Carolina to open the season.
But he’s human.
Bortles doesn’t come across as a quarterback who needs to be coddled, but the Jaguars have to be wary about what a slow start Sunday against Miami at EverBank Field would do for his confidence.
First-year offensive coordinator Greg Olson’s play calling wasn’t an issue against the Panthers. Bortles was inaccurate at times and made a poor decision on a pick six. Receivers dropped three passes that would’ve gained around 60 yards.
