JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed injured first-round draft pick Dante Fowler Jr. to a four-year, $23.5 million contract.
The deal is fully guaranteed and includes a $15.3 million signing bonus.
Fowler, the third overall pick in the draft, tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee last Friday and will miss the entire season. Beforehand, he signed an injury protection waiver.
General manager Dave Caldwell says ''negotiations with Dante's representatives were ongoing prior to his injury and nothing has changed. His attitude and spirit that he has shown recently are part of the reasons we selected him third overall.
