Immediate impact expected on Jaguars defense

One to harass opposing quarterbacks.

Another to make them pay.

The Jaguars introduced two new crucial elements to their defense on Thursday in defensive tackle Malik Jackson and free safety Tashaun Gipson.

Both will be charged with helping a Jaguars defense improve from ranking 31st in scoring and 29th against the pass last season.

The AFC South is now stocked with talented young quarterbacks, as the Jaguars must face Indianapolis’ Andrew Luck, Tennessee’s Marcus Mariota and Houston’s Brock Osweiler twice a year.

Jackson is the crown jewel of the Jaguars’ free-agent haul, signing a five-year, $85.
