The Jaguars hosted free agent Greg Jennings on Monday, three weeks after general manager Dave Caldwell said the team was interested in the veteran receiver.
A source said the Jennings-Jaguars meeting was “just a visit for now,” so a signing doesn’t appear to be imminent.
Jennings, 31, has also visited Miami and Carolina since being released by Minnesota on March 16, two seasons into a five-year, $45 million contract.
Jennings has 552 catches for 8,083 yards and 63 touchdowns in a nine-year career — seven with Green Bay and the last two with the Vikings.
The Jaguars’ interest in Jennings makes sense because they want to add a veteran presence to the position (to mentor second-year players Marqise Lee, Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns) and also play the slot position, which would allow Lee, Robinson and Hurns to play the two outside spots.
