Jaguars report card
Times-Union sports columnist Gene Frenette grades the Jaguars against the New Orleans Saints based on production, effort and game circumstances.
Offense – D
Despite a 90-yard touchdown strike to Allen Robinson, which was a franchise record for longest play, it turned out to be window dressing. Blake Bortles (27 of 35, 368 yards) was in a funk for the first 25 minutes, throwing two interceptions. That’s a death sentence when everyone knew Jaguars might have to win a shootout. Every yard gained on this day should be filed under “G” for garbage.
Defense – F
It’s not surprising the Jaguars struggled against even foot-impaired QB Drew Brees (25 of 36, 412 yards), but the lack of resistance was staggering.
