NEW ORLEANS | Gus Bradley didn’t quite know where to begin explaining a debacle that the Jaguars’ defense, his baby, had once again put forth Sunday inside the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
He used the word “precision,” meaning the lack of it, about a half-dozen times to account for how the New Orleans Saints flummoxed the Jaguars defense for 537 yards in a 38-27 rout. The Jaguars’ third-year head coach rambled about how quarterback Drew Brees confused his Jaguars with alignments, shifts and changes in personnel groupings.
Really, it was all mindless coach-speak. We’ve heard the same theme before in different variations.
