Gene Frenette: Glimmer of hope peaking through for Jaguars

While trying three different head coaches, the absolute worst thing about the Jaguars’ four-plus years of darkness is fans rarely saw a glimpse of sunlight.

Thirty-one losses by double digits from 2011-14 will do that. The combination of a losing franchise with an unimaginative offense was stifling. It’s been the Jaguars’ identity for too long. Thankfully, it appears to be in the process of changing.

The Jaguars have averaged 27 points in their last four games, numbers not seen since midway through the 2010 season. Thanks to the lively right arm of quarterback Blake Bortles, plus the emergence of receivers Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns, the Jaguars are finally entertaining to watch in defeat.
