Former Jaguars punter Bryan Anger returned to the team’s practice fields this morning as a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Jaguars’ third-round pick in 2012, Anger was the team’s punter for all 60 games over the last four years.
In early March, the Jaguars offered Anger a new contract, but his camp turned it down. The Jaguars signed Brad Nortman and Anger moved on to the Buccaneers.
“We had a little bit of talks with them,” Anger said. “Didn’t quite get what we hoped for and just moved on from there.”
Anger is in a punting competition with Jacob Schum in Tampa Bay, a departure from his time with the Jaguars when he went through training camp as the locked-in Week 1 punter.
