Former Jaguars player Maurice Jones-Drew sees civil trial in St. Agustine moved to September

Judge Howard Maltz agreed to a defense motion Tuesday to push back the start of the civil trial involving former Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew.

Jones-Drew is being sued by former Conch House security guard Kasim Howard, who was struck during an altercation involving Jones-Drew’s friends, another patron and other members of the security force on May 26, 2013.

The trial was set to begin this month in St. Johns County, but defense attorney Patrick Coll said there were too many witnesses he had not been able to reach and too many documents he had yet to receive to conduct the trial.
